About

I received my Bachelor of Fine Art in Art and Design from the University of Alberta in 2001.  During my studies, I was able to attend the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury, England.  My main area of focus at that time was in Printmaking.  I moved toward painting as a focus after leaving University.  In 2007, I received a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education. I work as an art teacher and artist.

As an artist, I look closely at the details in the world around me.  I am fascinated with texture, colour and patterns that I see in my surroundings.  I am most inspired by organic elements in nature and objects showing the passage of time.  Most of my inspiration comes from places that I have visited during camping adventures, traveling or walking through nature. I love layers, textures and an abundance of colours.
